production method

This is how we manufacture the speedometer discs and Glow Gauge Faces

Printing process and material

Our custom Gauge Faces and Custom Glow Gauge Faces / Dials are manufactured using modern UV digital printing. This process allows us to reproduce up to 16,7 million colors, excluding metallic and neon colors.

Even the finest details, down to pin-size, can be precisely realized. Raised, tactile structures that resemble carbon fiber are also possible.

For production we use 0,5 mm thick polycarbonate, a heat-resistant material (up to 120 °C), which is also used for original Gauge Faces.
The surface is matt, slightly rough and scratch-resistant, as well as completely flat and free of indentations.

After printing, all discs are precisely cut using an Epilog Fusion Pro 48 laser system.

Details on the structure of the discs

On dark Gauge Faces, the indicator lights are almost invisible when “inactive,” just like the originals.
For light-colored discs, visibility varies depending on the color tone; in most cases, the symbols must be black to ensure visibility when active in all lighting conditions.

The polycarbonate used comes exclusively from well-known manufacturers such as “Bayer” and “3M”.
